You need the Rave CD my friend. It is hella free. Find a post by AKRover and look in his sig for the link.

Lets try something, it will be free to try.
Remove one spark plug from a known working cylinder and start the truck, run it at idle for a few min.
Do you smell gas?
You should and that cylinder should be loaded up with unburnt gas because the spark plug was taken out.
Now replace that one and remove one from a known bad cylinder, repeat, do you smell gas again?
Report back.

Just finished that test. Gas in all the holes.

Did a compression test too, not so good.
100 psi in 5.
6,7,8 all have around 25 - 30
The rest are over 150.

How could I lose both sides at the same time but only the back four?

There was never an overheating problem, oil was good, never hod rodded the thing, and it always ran like a top. What gives?

Pulled off the intake today and found gas in the back 4 holes up to the top of the manifold, and the front 4 were empty. Need to get a 12 point 8mm 1/4 drive socket to get the valve covers off, never thought it would be so hard to find. My 3/8 drive 8mm 12 point is too big to fit the bolt well of the valve cover. I'll get it off in the next day or so.

I'm still thinking (especially now) busted camshaft.

Got the driver's side valve cover off today, turned the crankshaft 4 full revolutions and watched the rockers move on the front 2 cylinders but the back 2 sets of rockers were quiet and motionless.

Now I'm 99.99% convinced that I have a broken camshaft. Are there any other possibilities?

Man oh man, I do not know what could have happened.
Other than broken lifters but man, I dont know how a cam could just break.

Default You're not going to believe this...

I finally got down to the camshaft, and lo and behold, it's busted.
Unbelievable!
