Diesel-ish start up noise - sticky lifters?
Exhaust leaks are all addressed and the engine purrs when warm. On start up though, it’s always had this faint diesel-like start up sound and I’m wondering if it’s a good indicator that lifters might need replacing. They’re original at 210k.
Oil pressure at start up is about 50-52psi and settles normally to about 45-48 at freeway speeds when warm and high-teens when warm and at a stop light.

It certainly could be, how often have you been changing the oil? might not hurt to run some liquimoly or similar to see if it clears up. I would try that before replacing the lifters. Some people will add transmission fluid or MMO to see if that cleans things up.
Every 5K or every 6 months. It's been this way for years and always mean to post it but then forget by the time I get home haha.
