No you don't, 03's do not have the locking differential with the shift nipple as shown, round plate held down with 3 bolts and a nipple in the middle.
You can buy one along with a new 04 shift assembly if you want it bad enough.

Did you explore the site any?

The site offers the DI style shifter and that will work fine on OURS...but I personally don't want to get rid of my setup so i may fabricate my own..

You can buy a DI style shifter for about $150 on roverlandparts.com too..

or you can do fabricate one, go to www.discoweb.org -->tech-->cdl lever Disco 2.

Or you can buy an electric style solenoid similar to the setup Disco Mike has http://www.amv.com.au/SeriesIIDifflock.htm

I have a friends 04 t/case sitting on the ground, only 34,000 miles on it for $500 plus shipping and a shifter of your choice purchased from Roverlandparts.com
You can get this installed then turn around and sell yours to off set some of the exchange cost.
