Default diff oil change

1998 Disco 167k miles

I've drained both front and rear differentials.

2 easy questions

1. Rave calls for 3.6 pints front and rear ( British 20 oz. pint I presume)

Should I just keep adding until I reach the fill hole?

2. I was going to add some 1/2' or 3/8" hose to the nipple on the quart of gear oil so I can get r' in there.

Any other brighter ideas??

fill to the fill hole and you can get a small pump for gear oil at most auto stores

Also make sure to clean of the metal on the magnetic drain plug.

I just jammed the spout of the container into the hole and squeezed until nothing more came out. Then I put the second one in and squeezed.... when I couldn't get any more out, I filled up the second container with the residual from the first and squeezed again. Worked well... zero mess....

I just picked up a 12$ bilge type pump at Autozone.

Mike in regards to replacing fluids so far:
engine oil
diff fluid
brake fluid
coolant

Next up: transfer case and transmission
The power steering is leaking so badly I need to sort out the leak first.
