If you where to read your owners manual you would see it is very serious and should not be driven when the light is flashing.
Early for wires, even Rover wires, but if that is the case, I would recommend you order some 8 mm Magnacor wires as replacements.
Consider pulling the #5 plug, 3rd one on the drivers side and see what it looks like.
If wires are called for and you are some what mechanical, I would suggest you save $300 plus in labor by replacing them yoursels, I can walk you thru doing that.
Get back to us.

What Mike meant to say is do NOT drive it with any dash lights flashing.

Sorry Mike, but you forgot the "not" in your post. Oversight I know, it happens to all of us.

Have you not read your owners manual, might want to.
How serious is this, how would you like to pay parts and labor to replace your cts and "Y" pipe cause you fried your cats, only cost you under $800 give or take a little. Granted, the cats are under A Federal warranty, but when the dealer sees your Check engine light flashing he will most likely not warranty your parts cause you didn't want to deal with it, that's why some people call warning lights, idiot lights, cause some people won't even pay attention to something this simple.
It is obvious you have a limited amount of mechanical back ground and that is fine, but when some one says it is serious, take it as being serious and deal with it.
