A different approach to coil relocation with Extinct Motorsports kit
I wanted to share my experience with the (great) coil relocation kit from @Extinct motorsports. I found that there was a small tweak to the arrangement that allowed for a much easier overall installation job.
The only difference in install is the direction and orientation of the coils. By flipping the coils in a different oriantation:
The coil wiring harness is less stretched to reach the coils
All the spark plugs for each side are on their 'proper side' (you can use shorter wires, but still not the #7 or #8
Idle control valve intake manifold hoses probably DO NOT need to be shortened - as the clip is on the other side and doesn't get in the way.
No pressure from the intake manifold hose on the coil clip. I started with the initial install and didn't like how much pressure was being put on the clip - this was my main reason for finding an alternate solution.
Here is a diagram of the original engine & coil pack setup and the new coil relocation kit suggested setup. Though the 'orientation' isn't identical to how it was behind the engine, it makes it super clean! no crossing of wires.
Here are photos of the final installation. Top view of the final setup - note the orientation and direction of the clips The front coil pack is from the passenger side, the back coil is from the drivers side
Nice write up. I probably should have done a dual option write up. I do like your arrangement, and tested it, but ultimately decided to go the other way only because it allows removal of the assembly including the bracket by removing the upper intake bolts without removing the coils from the bracket. But ultimately either works fine.

I don't understand your wiring diagram, the wires in blue go to the correct cylinders but the red wires don't. Is this a mistake or is it I just don't understand? Thanks for this, I think I will use your change when I get it.
