Default Differential Lock Shifting

How easy it is to move the shifter to Hi or Low? I tried mine knowing thats there but never used it. Is it really hard or just like moving the main shifter to regular gears? Mine wont budge. Do I need to do it while driving or while stopped. Any procedure that you can recommend doing?
Thanks

Tranny needs to be in neutral if. Mine shifts the smoothest while rolling 3-5mph in neutral.

Don't force it if it won't move, the interlock solenoid might be toast.

Also, you are supposed to do it at least once a month to keep the linkage and cable from seizing.

so the procedure is to let the disco run then let it roll from drive to neutral about 3-5mph then select hi or low. Is that correct?

OR when tranny in neutral, do i need to let engine running and shift to Hi or low?

Thanks King.

Put it in drive, let it idle to the desired speed, shift into neutral and apply pressure into low or high while vehicle free rolls.

I agree it's typically easier to move from high to low if the truck is rolling, and vice versa. But even given that, it takes substantially more effort to get it into low than moving your PRDL321 shifter and more than any manual transmission I've ever driven.

Actually, getting it out of high isn't so difficult, it's getting it to go into low once the T-case is in neutral that takes a firm shove.

Yah, I got the same sticker. I but on the label says 0-5mph. On the other side its 0-40mph but I was assuming its for the same ****. I was probably doing it the wrong way. But thank you ALL, I'll try it again once im home.

The decal is telling you not to exceed those speeds depending on the function. Not faster than 5mph in low range, no faster than 40 with the diff locked.
