Default DII front grill conversion?

I've searched the forums a bit and never found anything, leading me to believe this might not be feasible or at least not worth the effort. I have a pre-facelift DII that I simply want to just change the grill out to a post-facelift grill. Don't want to do the whole headlight conversion thing. The only reason I need to do this is to have the clearance to install a small light bar like the picture below. The pre-facelift grill sticks waaaay too far out and there's not way to really chop it up to fit.

I have a feeling this might only be do-able by swapping the whole thing, lights and all but figured I'd ask if anyone has ever done it. Thanks!

So I have the Terra bumper and it has barely any overhang as opposed to yours that looks like it has about 2” or more. I’ll try and snap a pic from above.

like this? Pretty simple, you just have to cut off some plastic from the lower headlight trim

Yep!!!! How far out is that grill sticking from the headlights? Just trying to see if that would fix my clearance issue.
