Default DII OEM Wrap Around Brush Bar?

Hey Guys,
In the midst of installing a bar i picked up yesterday and had a question for y'all... Is this bar an OK recovery point to use? Any concerns on it or guidance figures for it?

And man alive, did anyone else have a hell of a time getting the last four bolts that connect the bar to the mounting brackets in and tightened? The rest of it was a snap but that seems like it is almost impossible to get my fat hands or any type of spanner back in there?

Cross you fingers for me tonight on that one

No do NOT use the brush bar as a recovery point, ONLY the factory recovery points or the frame or trailer hitch can be used.

Wow, for real? It mounts to the same point as the orig recovery point? Secured by the same\stronger bolts?

Depends on the bar type you fitted really, the steel tube ones replace the "factory" tow point and have 2 points on the bar, would be ok for towing (obviously) and "mild" pulls when offroad, but if your thick up to the axles in muck, I would be VERY wary of using it.

Even if you do use it for easy pulls, buy a bridle and connect to BOTH points to spread / even the load.

when you tie into the two points you want to make sure that you use two seperate straps. If you use one and run it through both you will get a triangle that will put lateral stress on the recovery points instead of a straight pull. Hope that made sense... its easier to demonstrate with pics but I have none.

I wouldnt pull stumps out of the ground with it but pulling a Kia out of a snow bank fine.

Just because it is there does not mean it is ok to use.
The steel on the OEM brush bars is not meant to handle the stress in my opinion.

The factory recovery points were weak. I wouldn't have used them. I would stay away from the one's on the bar as well...
