Default DII Remote Key Fob Microswitch

If anyone is wondering, here is the link for the microswitch for our remote key fob. It took me awhile to figure out which one since mouser sells about a billion different switches.

Mouser Tactile Switch

I can confirm this works as I soldered the new switch on to my remote last night.

I know this is an old thread but the link to Mouser doesn't work.
Does anyone know the specs or part number of the key fob's microswitch?
Cheers!

I bought an 8.00 kit from China and it had a perfect case, key blank key blade, pin, and 4 micro switches. I carefully soldered them onto my old remote, slapped the guts and the old blade on the new case and in less than 10min I have a perfect working and new looking key.

Good info, what were symptoms prior to working perfect? Did the led on FOB illuminate prior to fix? Have one that led lights when either button will light led but doesn't transmit to unlock. Thanks for any input.

The 99 I bought had a remote that looked like a dog ate it, pooped it out, and did it again and again. It had hardly any rubber left on the casing, both little buttons were gone, and it had some rust on the battery area. I cleaned it with electrical cleaner, let it dry, used a very delicate soft bristle toothbrush to knock of any junk, and soldered on the new buttons. Slapped it into the new case, installed my old blade and that was it.

Before I did all that I tested the fob by shorting the two pins where the buttons used to be. It locked/unlocked the D2 so I knew it was salvageable.

Appreciate the update, guess my switches good since led lights but will try shorting pins just to confirm. Suspect FOB transmitter my be bad or needs to be re-programed.

I would suspect the receiver is bad, not the transmitter.

Thanks for input. Apparently "passive immobilization" is enabled. Other remote works fine but if not started within approx. 30 sec. of unlocking, dash light blinks and won't start unless FOB unlock pressed again. FOB that doesn't remotely unlock requires reinserting in door lock and cycled if not started within the timeout. Read a LR bulletin concerning this immobilization that requires BCU replacement to disable. BCU had been replaced under warranty when D2 was nearly new, likely not programed correctly and previous owner lived with it as I've learned to do. Would like to disable the passive or have two keys that will start after the timeout. PIA to get out and cycle key if not started soon enough using remote that doesn't transmit.

I found another micro tact switch for 0.13 cents also made by C&K, part number PTS636 SK25J SMTR LFS
"Tactile Switches Tact 50mA 12VDC, 6.0x3.5, 2.5mm H, 250gf, J leads, No ground pin, Red Actuator" ... https://www.mouser.com/ProductDetail...ipiNSAIl%252BG
