Disappearing oil act.
what if... and this probably stupid idea.. but when switching to the rotella with the extra detergents, a glob of goop stuck on dipstick opening not allowing it to read properly and your running 7 extra quarts of oil? not sure it would run but that along with absorbing some of the oil in gaskets might still run... just curious... lol Im always worried what I read on dipstick wont be accurate but then again it usually reads within spec... ironically one time about 4 months ago in small level spot I checked oil and it looked low... went to buy a little extra, got home in same spot.. checked again and it was ok... hmmm
Look in the coolant - 60 PSI of oil pressure might be pushing the oil into the system - also - make sure the dipstick tube is bolted to the valve cover - everytime you check it you may be pulling the dipstick tube out of the block 1/4 inch
hmmm... will check! it looks like some idiot before me tried his had or a service shop at half a@# working on some of it.. missing this and that... leak here and there... anyway, its running good and Ive repaired or replaced allot of things needed mostly for the 80k service and all previous major services... just got my speed bleeders in saturday so tomorrow Im hoping to have time to bleed the brakes .... :-) oh off topic... $general store has a degreaser for $1! per spray bottle... our local detail shop teacher for the school said its kind of an inside secret... they use it to clean engines... anyway it worked with my pressure wand and compressor... and it looks now defiantly my leak is at valve cover gaskets! lol when Id spray it clean Id se a little fresh oil weep out! lol NICE! so Ill change those and add the 8mm plugs and button it all back up!
