Disco 2 Overheating
That does sound as if you still have air in the system.
You can try one of the two options
1. suspend the expansion tank above the battery with bungee cords. Open the expansion cap. Open the bleeder screw an be ready to tighten it, wait for coolant to come out of bleeder screw and tighten. Put the expansion tank back and top off with coolant. Repeat as needed
2. Jack the front of the truck up, run it with heater on full for 30 minutes, let it sit over night, top off the coolant from the bleeder screw. Repeat as needed.

I am 95% on that the water pump. As it is kinda a working or not working thing and there is fluid circulating when the car is running
Check to see if your heater core has sufficient flow, you need to disconnect hoses going to engine & pour distilled water trough hose that is connected to left pipe coming out of firewall (if you stand in front of truck & looking to firewall) if there is good amount of flow, then you are ok, if poor & little flow then it's partially clogged,,, (needs a good flush),,, If it checks out ok, fit left hose to engine & fill heater core trough other hose & then connect it back, that way you have gotten rid of most of air,, then do the 2nd procedure as mentioned ,,,
