Hello,
I recently purchased an '04 Disco 2 with a recently replaced engine and new head gaskets. The truck runs well and has the factory cooling system, but runs between 200-211 degrees while driving and drops to about 195 while idling. I have ordered an inline thermostat to help the truck run cooler, but are these temps a concern to drive with for the time being? I have heard very mixed opinions.

 

@ACKD2 The temps are ok,they are actually what 04's were set to run at. But the problem is if you have a cooling issue. Overheat is 244F, so the higher your running temp the less head room you have if the cooling system has an issue

 

It should be ok until you get the inline just keep an eye on it.
