Disco 96 2.5Tdi Auto, Staring problem
i have a 96 Disco 2.5 Tdi that's a swine to start in the morning, when its warm its ok.
have change the fuel filter, glow plugs and relay all working fine.
when its warm it starts ok, but ive noticed as it gets colder the harder it is to start, i have to keep winding the starter then it eventually goes, any ideas folks?

It sounds like poor compression. You say it is a 1996. So it likly has high milage. Diesel engines need good compression to start them. Sadly there is no easy fix. but it is not hard to do a compression check on these engines all you need is a high compression gauge. I have the same engine in a 1986 90, I put it in myself. It starts great. I would love to have one in my discovery.
