Default New 1996 2.5tdi owner... heeeeelllllpppp!

First of all, hi there, we are the proud new owners of a 1996 landrover discovery bought today!!

My husband and I bought our new 1996 landrover discovery 2.5tdi today and we were delighted. It has always been a dream for us to own one, and finally we made it happen. It's an oldie, yes, we know, but we wanted to start somewhere, and here it was.

Now. We got it home. Hurrah. Then, we went out to start it up again about an hour later to move it to outside our home (no space big enough before then). It wouldn't start. It would turn over, but not start. Eventually, it started to sound like the battery was dying, so obviously we stopped. We have no idea what the hell is going on, whether its us being complete disco noobs (we are, we have no problem with admitting this), or whether its the car. We are hoping for somebody here to take pity on us, and help us out with the complete idiots guide to what we are doing wrong, or if its the car, we are very keen to learn how to work on it.

Thanks in advance
ScalehsFluffies (and her equally noobish husband)
