Default Disco I 3.9 CNG or Propane

Anyone know of the possibility to convert a Disco I for use with propane or CNG?

RPI in the UK has kits.
I have gotten motor parts and my ECU re-mapped from them.

I have a 97 Disco running on LPG (mixture of propane and butane). Goes really well. Doesnt seem to have lost any horses. Very simple intake system via a mixer placed between airflow meter and plenum chamber. No need to buy plates etc. You can get a newer system DGI(Direct gas injection) but these are made more for newer vehicles with plastic intake manifolds (eliminates backfire and blowing your manifold to peices), however not totally neccessary with Landrovers as manifold is alloy. I have seen a few though with DGI and have been told they are motr efficient.
I have a 100 litre tank whick takes 80litres to fill. I will get 400 km out of a tank both around town and on open road; why the same I dont know. Definately cheaper than petrol. Make sure you have premium HT leads and spark plugs as this helps eliminate backfire. You can advance timing about 2-3 degrees but be careful not too much. Start up is a bit harder in the morning as it takes a while for gas to get into chamber(mine takes 3 cranks) but after that, its starts 1st pop every time if not left siiting for too long.
Overall, she loves the gas, I love the price.

Wow. Anyone tried this with a DII? How about in the US? California?

This is the kit for the DII on ebay:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/LPG-Conversion...742.m153.l1262

With tank 900 pounds, with tank 1300 pounds = $2,300 plus shipping. Call it 2,500.

Wonder how much it costs per mile and what when the investment would pay off. Also, would your DII dash look like its lit up like a nativity scene?
