Default Disco I Code 14?

Hello,

94 D1 with 100k.

Does anybody know what I should do about a fault code 14? I know its the coolant temp sensor but the temp sensor is fine. The gauge reads correctly and the sensor itself passes the test in the Electrical manual.

The coolant gauge in our trucks is the most inaccurate gauge ever made, don't use what you see from it to determine if the sensor is bad, go thru a testing procedure to see how accurate the sender really is.

Hey Mike,

Any suggestions for testing? There is no test specified in the Electrical manual and the Workshop manual doesn't have one either. It only has a listing of resistance values at certain temps. You think I should just stick a temp probe in the radiator and measure resistance values?

for a 20 buck part don't waste your time just replace it, if it turns out that it's not it, you know its new and it won't be it for a little while longer.
