Default Disco I and Disco II differential

Does anyone know if the differential assembly is interchangeable between a Disco I and Disco II? For instance if I put lockers in my 1996 and then later buy a 2002, can I swap the entire third member over?

Thanks!

Only the diff will swap over, NOT the whole axle or axle shafts.

Very nice. I'll put that down in the "pro" column for whether or not to buy some upgrades. My Discovery is pretty rough, which is ok for how I use it, but it is nice to know that I could keep the diffs if I decide to upgrade to fewer dents.
