Default Disco II Cargo Door Stuck

I just shut the cargo door and now it will not open from the inside or outside. The outside latch moves up and down but does not seem to be engaging anything. The inside handle will unlock the door but it will not open. Help!!!

Pop off land rover oval on outside handle with screwdriver.
Spray exposed handle guts with pb blaster or equivalent.
Open door!

Search forums for other threads on this, pretty common.

Lock mechanism with the motor in it is probably failing.
I would replace that.

You can try to pull up the locking mech lock/unlock tab at the window sill and see if you can unlock it that way.
Then manually use the outside handle or the inside handle.

But you need to replace your lock mech asap.

If the op-rod popped off the handle then an amount of PB blaster will help. All you can do is enter the cargo area from the second row doors, and then remove the cargo door panel, and operate the release directly.

I have removed the cargo panel and can move the lock mechanism but the door will still not open. Any advice?

Start taking the lock mechanism apart.

Well, normally you'd undue the screws on the door edge, but you can't with it closed.

You need to manually operate the latch mechanism, maybe with a large screwdriver to get the leverage.
