I have been able to move the lock with my hands and a screwdriver but it still will not open the door. It is very frustrating!

Then you are moving the wrong part. You need to actuate the part that holding the d-ring on the door sill.

It moves but does not seem to be engaging anything. I think the part it is supposed to move is stuck in the "up" position so the arm does not hit it to complete the action. I will check it again tomorrow. Thanks for the help and I will let you know how it goes. I appreciate it!

I was able to get the door open. The lower arm controlled by the outside handle was not lifting the lock. The lock was stuck in an up position. I was able to spray PB blaster inside the lock and reach inside and move the lever until the door finally popped open. I also put a new green thing on the lower door handle to have a tighter connection with the door handle connector. A lot of time and sweat but it is good now.

Default Worked for me too

Using the spray helped me open the door immediately from the outside. Thanks for the tip. I also learned that while the inside door handle will lift the lock on one pull and open the door on the 2nd pull, the lock will not move up or down with either the interior lock/unlock switch on the dash or the key. I suppose that indicates a new latch is called for, or is there a chance that after I remove the inside door panel I will find a way to rescue without replacement? I suppose what I'm asking is there a reason to open up the panel before I order the part or might as well wait until I have it all in hand?

I would buy a replacement. Does the key fob lock the other doors?
