Default Disco II Carpet Replacement

Anyone pulled their stock carpet and replaced with a rubber liner?

Results? Good, bad, ugly?

If you did and are happy withe the outcome, can you share? I'm thinking about the swap, but don't know where to begin looking for material, or what is the best material to use in the first place.

Thanks!

If your gonna pull the carpet, I would use a good Rhino Liner (like spraying the inside of a truck bed). That's the way to go.

We did that in Jeeps. But we also did serious off roading. hehe

You would have to pull the seats also. Clean/prep/tape everything real good, etc.

It's not that much work, is cheap, and would be a killer mod if you ask me.

I wasn't even thinking about a spray in, but that's an idea. I had Rhino Lined an old Land Cruiser I used to own. Outcome was great, but plugging all of the holes, then having to go back and run a tap through a bunch of them was a pain. Also had to go back and shave down some mount points so everything would go back together as it should.

I was thinking of just going with a rubber mat, but now I'll have to do some serious thinking.

$80-100+- bucks for a gallon I think last time I priced it. If you find any rust you will need to sand/air grind it off. I would Simple Green (spray cleaner) everything real good also before coating.

The prep work is where you spend all the time. Applying the liner is easy.
