Disco II Instrument Cluster Meltdown
So I am driving down the road today and my instrument cluster dies and smoke starts pouring out from behind the steering wheel. I pull over and abandon the vehicle thinking it's going up in smoke but after turning off the ignition she lives. So after getting towed off the interstate I take the instrument cluster out and discover sure enough it's melted along with some of the wires. So my question is: when I replace the cluster with a new cluster is there any programming, etc. required or is it simply plug and play?
No it is not a plug-n-play.
The odometer will not match the body control units odometer and the OD on the instrument cluster will show the correct miles but it will flash until you have it programmed by the dealer.

Spike555,
Thanks for the reply. I thought there was some programming involved but I wanted to verify. I hope to get the new cluster ordered this week and get my Disco back up and operational.
God Bless
