Disco II - Transmission Oil Cooler Send/Return?
Does anyone know which line is which?
We've got a line coming off the bottom of the transmission and then we've got a line coming out of the top of the transmission...anyone have any idea which one is the send and which one is the return?
Thanks.

I need to take off both lines before I can twist them into a noose and use it to strangle a LR engineer.
On a serious note...I can't find anything in the Rave that indicates which line is the send and which is the return...I'm sure it wouldn't be too difficult to find out, all I would need to do is disconnect one of the lines and see if fluid purges out of the transmission or out of the line...but I'd like to save myself the mess and just see if anyone knows.
Additionally...if anyone has a tutorial on how to remove the lines from the cooler itself, it would be quite helpful. The whole:
is crap information unless you're David Copperfield. I know I'm not the only one who has run into this problem...a guy on another LR forum abandoned the removal of his radiator because he couldn't figure it out.

4. Push against coupling release ring and disconnect both fluid hoses from cooler.

I recently had to replace the head gaskets on my 99 Disco II. While it was down I removed the radiator and it had it cleaned and checked. The coupling rings on the oil and transmission coolers worked exactly as advertised, pressed them toward the cooler while pulling gently on the lines and the lines came off with ease. The bad news was only 2 of the 4 lines still had the coupling rings attached. I dropped by Auto Zone and they had a package of compression fitting tools that included 3 different sizes for around $10.00. I used the appropriate size tool and removed the 2 remaining couplings. It was much easier than I had anticipated. Good Luck.
