Just had a lot of rain and drove thru 1ft-2ft of water yesterday, now before engine even turns over, (key position 2) the trans temp light comes on... on a cold cold engine?
So where is the sensor(s) located to check connection and replace if need be?
Thanks all...

Sensor is located in the RH (passenger) side of the transmission cooler behind the grill.
Hope this helps...

There is also another temp sensor located on the back of the transmission (driver's side). Easy to get to and may have been affected if you were in deep water. Try unplugging it and see if your light goes out. I would start there first as the one on the cooler is a bit harder to get at.

Here's the one that goes to the trans cooler: Sender Oil Cooler Temperature Transmission | Land Rover Electrical Parts, Batteries, Relays, Lamps & More
That bracket you see bolts on near the top of the radiator (passenger side) You can follow the wiring harness down to the bottom of the cooler where it screws in. The one on the rear of the transmission (drivers side) is easy. Slide underneath your D2 and look at the side of the trans toward the back. You will see 2 wires that plug into the sensor.

Just unplug it. If the light is still on then it's probably the sensor on the front. If it's the front, do NOT go by the RAVE manual. They want you to rip the whole front end apart to get it out. There's a shortcut to it that will take about 20-30 mins. You can do a search for the procedure. (someone else on here told me how to do it so I know it's on here
)
But always start with the easy one first!
