When you say surging, do you mean the idle speed is going up and down?

yes it hesitates after it runs for a while, whenever i come to a stop and accelerate to go it'll hesitate as if its not getting gas, then ill press the gas and itll catch and go.it only started when i changed the water pump .

Check your serpantine belt route to be sure it is correct. See Discover Discovery Maintenance Tips, Accessories, Parts & More at Roverparts.com

Thinking you removed the air cleaner, MAF and all that piping.
Check that the both clamps are tight.
Check that the MAF plug is in good.
Check the TPS plug too. That plug would have been left in - but you should check it.

You may want to pull off the whole piping thing with the MAF and those two clamps.

Then check the TPS plug which comes in from the bottom.

Then put it all back together carefully.

Check the throttle cable for slack.
Also - if the throttle cable is too tight and your engine mounts are worn.
Going around a corner will make the engine shift a mm or so and it will
OPEN the throttle.

So, I bet your throttle cable (or cruise cable) is too tight.

Also - make sure the cruise control button is OUT and not engaged.
Don't drive around with that button in.
