Default Disco No Start continued

Has anyone heard of this or is it fiction. On the RAVE cd under engine managemaent "When a new crankshaft position sensor is fitted or the flywheel removed, the adaptive values will have to be reset using TestBook." Any feedback on this??? Is there anyway to do this without TestBook???

not entirely true, yes they should be reset, but they will relearn themselves over time and be right... the point of the adaption is so the ecm can learn any irregualities in the flywheelexciter ring, what it uses to know when to spark each cyl, youll never be off enough to cause a no start or anything just by changing out a sensor. as to doing it with out a t4, ive never seen a way, but who knows

Thanks for your imput. I removed the new sensor and observed the rotating ring to result of the ring undulating back and forth 1/16". Is that enough of a variance to cause a no start? I also checked continuity for all connections from the sensor to the ECM and checked out good.

that means youre gettinga good signal from the crank sensor... you have a seperate problem, could be fuel pressure, could be blown fuse number 2 under your hood, could be alot of things, check those first
