Default Disconnecting the battery

Does disconnecting the battery in D2's cause any problems? I've read about radio codes and such in D1's and Rover's, but not D2's.. Do D2's need radio codes and should I try to get mine for the future. Thnks.

Yes, you need the radio code.

Why are you wanting to disconnect the battery?
D2's aren't as bad as D1's were about radio codes, but you better have it just in case, also you will have to reset your a/c controls to read the correct temp.

Why are you wanting to disconnect the battery?
Just in case mostly. The battery doesn't seem to hold a very good charge (12.3 volts)so I was going to bring it inside (it's freezing out) and give it a good charge. I'll probably just wait a few days though since it should be a bit warmer out and leave it hooked up to charge. I haven't had a chance to check the charging system on the truck at all yet. Anyways, I'm guessing I'll need to switch it with a new one before too long since it's probably the original battery.

So, I found the dealer that used to service the truck before I bought it, would they have the code?

Never mind, I found the security and radio code in my nice LR owners manual / attache case. Imagine that.

Just go by your auto parts store, save some effort.

When I swapped the factory battery w/a new Optima battery, the only "hitch" was switching my A/C from Celcius to F.
That was very easy.

My radio was fine.
