Default Discovery 2 Challenger 5 spoke wheel group buy?

I realize this might be a hair brained question, but I'm wondering (out loud), how many others have wanted a set of these Challenger 5 Spoke Steel Wheels from Europe, but found shipping costs prohibitive? Then I wonder how hard it'd be to get a group buy together, how big a group could we assemble, and would any of the European sellers be willing to work with said group?

I'm thinking maybe the best place to start would be by gauging interest? So, if any fellow USA based Disco 2, or P38 folks are interested in organizing a group buy, maybe shoot me a message or reply to this post, and we'll go from there?

For reference, the wheels themselves for a set of 5 cost about $550, and the shipping is quoted at about $600, for a total of about $1150, before taxes or import fees, depending on the days monetary exchange rates.

Im happy with my stock wheels, but to clarify, the D2 and P38 use the same wheels, not the RRC (unless perhaps the last year or 2 of the RRC).

You might want to approach one of the US based LR parts suppliers (ex: Lucky 8, Atlantic British etc) who already
buy containers filled with parts. See if you can generate enough orders for them to work with you by having them do the buying and include in their next container shipping.

95 classics are not the same pattern as a D2

Good idea, I'll have to reach out to them! Wonder why they don't ship them here already....maybe I am singular in my desire, lol

Are the offsets on those really -20? That's quite extreme so you'd really need big flares to make any meaningful tire fit under unless you really want some poke. 16x8 +51 is what stock alloys are so -20mm offset is 71mm (2.8 inches) more poke.

They have all the good stuff on the other side of the pond. Buying my rear frame from the UK saved about $400 all in and it arrived in less than a week. The weak pound helped too.

I agree, "poke" can be very subjective, and the -20 offset of these will change it quite a bit from stock. Maybe I'm alone in this here, but I always thought the "underbite" of the wheel setup on these vehicle was excessive to begin with, and doesn't help the look of the vehicle at all. Widening the stance will also provide more stability in cornering and off camber situations, and a better turning radius. All things my Disco could certainly benefit from.

Pic for reference....
