Default discovery 2 charging issue

Hi
I have a disco 2 2001. For a week the battery light would come on and off. No issues though. My wife drove it and it died on the side of the road. 20 minutes later it started and I was able to get it home. Took it to autozone, the light came on, then went off. Battery was low, had it charged and checked the alternator. All checked out. Drove it home, light came on and truck died in driveway. Dead battery. If the alternator is checking out, what else should I be looking for? Wiring issue? Please help if you have any suggestions.

If it is dying when it warms up and then will restart after it cools off it would be you CPS. I'm not sure how or if that would affect the battery light. Hopefully someone else will chime in.

When you say the charging system checks out, what was the voltage at idle and at 2000 RPM's? Should be between 13.6 and 14.4 volts.

Check for a loose wire on the back of the alternator.
Typically when they fail the tach stops working, not all the time but most of the time.
