99 discovery charging problem
I just got a 99 LR discovery the guy I got it from had the car for only 3 weeks, said just after he got it the alternator went bad, he replaced the alternator and battery but it still wont charge and he had no more money to play with it.
I got it, took it to a friend that does electric and he said he would not touch it, I checked around and a few people have said there is a relay that might be bad? But in checking I cant find a relay for the charging system.....does anyone have any ideas what this problem could be? any help will be appreciated
thanks in advance

check fuse 27 to see if its blown?
Also check fuse 5 40amp to see if its blown, if its not blown check to make sure it has power on both sides. if it has no power then its the fusible link that is bad.
finally does the battery light come on. its possible its been removed. the instrument cluster can be accessed by removing the two small screws over the top steering wheel and then pull out the cover and take a look.
if everything is good. use a test light to make sure you have 12 volts at the alternator and make sure its connected. and the wire from the instrument cluster to the alternator has zero resistance.
