I just swapped to the D1 style arms and so far they work fine. Just bought the AB kit.

My original arms were totally shot. The D1 arms have been a huge upgrade. Just using the provided blades. It misses a tiny patch on the driver’s side, but extremely minor.

been happy with them so far.

I tried out the Silblade wipers before my D1 arm conversion. I was not impressed. When it got snowy, I had to pull over periodically to scrape away the accumulated snow that the blades began riding over. And their rear blade doesn't fit without some grinding. Honestly, the Tuff-Rok blades are the better choice.

I use the D1 arms also, I run the cheap Trico blades and change them once a year here in the PNW. Work fine for me.

Situation:
Recently purchased an 04 D2. Stock wiper blades are torn. Was contemplating swapping to the D1 arms just for the better blade options, but don't mind spending a few extra bucks on the OEM D2 blades if the setup works better than D1.
I've read about lack of force against the glass by tired, 20 year old D2 arms, but I cannot really test how mine are due to the blades being shot. They seem to still have a bit of snap.

Any thoughts on what a good arm spring should feel like? I know it's a vague question. Sorry.

I will be doing an intro at some point, but I'm trying to get this truck ready for winter ASAP. Tires and wipers are very top of the list. The truck came with one year old 18" Michelin Latitiude highway tires. Not very useful this time of year. I've got a set of 16's coming up from Will Tillery next week.

I found that getting the D2 wiper blades locally is quite expensive. I’ve been ordering mine from Rock Auto 4 at a time.

I had D1 arms and hated them. Your mileage may vary, but the reason I didn’t like them was due to uplift at highway speeds. They’d just chatter along.

I installed D1 arms several years ago and use Silblade WB120S (20") and that works fine for me. I will replace them with 19" next time, since the cleaning area will be completely sufficient, but it reduces wind resistance a bit.
