Default Discovery 2 - Lift Kit Options

Hey folks,
While I figure out my solution to my leaking sleeve engine I figured it's a good time to worry about other parts of the vehicle since it'll be parked a while. Likely too, I'll need a small lift to clear the LS motor that may go into it.

What are the options for a D2 when it comes to lifting it?

-Body lift kits?
-Coil spacer kits?
-Coil over upgrades?

Good results and bad of each perhaps?

Personally I'd like 2" of suspension lift but truly it's the suspension droop I'm looking for more than actually sitting higher. I'd only wish to sit a little higher to clear the LS motor as needed. My understanding is that my springs are probably sagging already and a heavier motor will make that even worse no doubt. Thoughts?

If you do a body lift and put a heavier motor in, your truck is going to dip in the front. The only way to prevent that is with medium or heavy duty springs; probably medium duty if you don't have any further modifications. Given that, you might as well do a suspension lift instead. I would recommend a Terrafirma 2" lift kit. Ask them to include medium duty springs in the front.

Sorry, I should have been more clear, I know the body lift does ZERO to change the situation of sagging springs due to age and due to motor weight increase, rather I might do a 1 inch of BL to clear tires with perhaps say 1.5" of suspension lift etc., something of that nature. I should have clarified that in my OP. While I hate large body lifts, a small one is often useful and doesn't race the CG much since the chassis stays low still.

Terafirma looks like a cheap option as you stated with the higher spring rate in the front. I really just want an couple inches of suspension lift to clear that oil pan as I'm told it's needed and beyond that I want the rest of the suspension droop, anyone making aftermarket shock tower mounts to allow for a longer travel shock etc?

You can get shock towers for the front that have lowered or raised mounting points, I might go OME for the lift kit or do OME springs and the TF +3" adjustable shocks depending on how you set up towers (and pull/have disconnects for sway bars if looking to maximize articulation)

Interesting, I'm going to look into that at least for an option. That seems like a slick setup and yes to disconnects on the sways, that makes world of difference off-road. In my Wrangler, I unbolted the sways and never used em again even on the road, my wheels and tires made it wide enough it was stable and safe.
