Is that seriously a roll bar mounted to a thin aluminum wing? If so, why even bother having it?

Actually I think the overall idea is pretty good, but then I think the Discovery is ugly to start with. LOL

I agree, unless they do some reinforcement similar to the Defenders on the inside, that will bend like aluminum foil.

Did nobody read the part were I said this was the customers design?

I was givin freedom on the bumper thats it, everything else is his idea. He thinks it looks cool so really thats all that matters. Fyi I have explained to him many times that it will not protect him in a roll.

Yeah, I saw that.
I hope you're getting a waiver signed from him that it could very well be a death trap and that he acknowledges you told him but insisted you do it the way he wanted. If not, it would be a good way to loose your house in a law suit.

Personally, when I worked on Land Rovers for a living I would do things the way a customer wanted, up to the point where that asked me to do something dangerous. Then I said no.

They don't attach to the wing on a defender, they go through it to the frame. Just a rubber seal around it on top of the wing.

I've been driving nothing but Land Rovers for 35 years, I can say what I want.

i like it, i was planning on doing something similar to my 95 but i have opted to take parts from it and junk it instead... i do like the idea of using the the roll cage as an on board air tank... i'm sure it must have been a pia to get all the welds airtight though, especially in some of the tighter joints...
