Hi, I have a 1999 Discovery TD5 Manual, the engine has started to knock so the just got a replacement 2004 unit from a Defender, I have also brought the gearbox as mine is not that good, will the gearbox from the Defender fit the Discovery as the gear shifts are in diferant places, can i just change the linkage?

I was told all would fit but not sure now, CAN YOU HELP
