Default Discovery head gasket - hot gas out the side

Just when you think you have seen it all.

Went to look at a 2000 Discovery with 130,000 miles on it.
Ran great.

But, had the pop, pop, pop noise.

I can put my hand down near cylinders #6 and #6 and feel hot air.
Think it is from #6.

Exhaust manifold looked ok and the bolts were tight.

Looks like for a while the engine has run like this.
My worry is -

Exhaust gasses have cut a groove into the head. Which is OK.
Just replace the head.

But, I also think exhaust gasses may have cut a groove into the block itself or the deck.

Can a deck be fixed?
How much would it cost? I bet not cheap.

Also has a smashed rear bumper.
And lots of sagging head liner.
Tires about 30% left.
Needs lots of reconditioning to the inside.
Outside paint is perfect. Must have been repainted (black)

Guess I am looking for another project.

Take a risk on this?
I am thinking not.

As soon as I realized the deck / block could have a groove, my interest level went down.

if you have burned a groove into the head, you most likely have block damage.
