Discovery II “Door lock / Ignition / key” Swap
So due to unfortunate circumstances, I have to change my driver door handle/lock, my ignition, and my key on my 2002 Disco II. I already have a donor vehicle that the ignition, key and door latch are all coming from.
One of my main concerns is that once I change out the ignition and my door latch is that will it all operate as normal? Are there any types of reprogramming that will need to be done? Or once I get everything installed, can I just insert the key into the door lock and all of the other doors will unlock as usual? Any advice or guidance would be greatly appreciated.
On another side note, I’m assuming that I will have to reprogram the fob for the new key, but that is not a big deal. Thanks in advance guys

No need to worry about reprogramming the door lock. Nothing in the door handle is electric or electronic. It connects via a rod or pin to the actuator, which is where the electrical switch is that connects to the body control unit (BCU). The actuator will remain intact, but even if you swapped it out no reprogramming would be needed.
I recommend that if you're going to have the door lock apart that you upgrade the rod/pin. They're a known weak point. Abran sells an upgraded version linked below, and his pics show where the factory pin breaks and where the replacement fits into the door handle. I upgraded mine many years before Abran's version was available using a file and a drill on a 20d nail.
