Default 2000 D2 In Superlock. Key barrel loose. Fob not synced...

Hi all,

My name is San and I'm a new member here. I'm in Toronto, Canada and have come here for help before. I've never been able to help with any useful information, so I never registered.

I've researched this and know the dire situation I'm in, so I'd like advice on how to proceed.

Truck is a 2000 D2 N.A. version

Here's my situation:

Battery died in truck earlier in the week and FOB had dead battery as well. I charged the truck battery and was using the key only. Fob was not working so I made a mental note to try a re-sync ASAP...

Some of my doors have only been locking when I superlocked the truck so that's what I've been doing lately using the key. Of course, I did that last night... (I'm aware of how stupid this is for a D2 owner)

This morning, I went to unlock the drivers door with the key and heard a linkage fall to the internal bottom of the door when I turned it. Key now has no resistance and is essentially disconnected.

Just to be sure, I tried hitting the unlock button inside the truck with a rod through the door frame and nothing. I also tried the inside door handles ( drivers and passenger) with the same rod and nothing.

Red light is flashing on the dash.

It's superlocked %100.

Essentially...

I have no key
I have no FOB

What are my options here?

Thanks for taking the time to read this.

San.

I have the same situation as the above except that I have the Key but there is no resistance in the lock itself. What are my options? I have a bunch of things I need inside the vehicle and time of of the essence.

thanks!

First off, the door lock to actuator pin is broken, that's why no resistance.

You need to have a tow truck driver come and slim Jim the driver door open or gain access somehow, i.e. Break a window. The alarm will go off. Open the hood and remove the relay for the horn.

Remove the driver door panel and remove the driver door handle. Insert a long Phillips screw driver from the hole for the handle into the white cross section of the actuator and turn in the unlock direction.

your alarm will s now satisfied that you did not break in to the vehicle.

start the car to confirm.

replace door lock pin, assemble the rest.

Oh yeah, we just happen to sell a door lock pin with lifetime warranty!

check our website for the PDF showing how to remove panel and handle.

CARRS4X4, Inc - Land Rover, Range Rover Parts & Service

You can buy the pin on eBay or message me and we can sell one direct.

good luck,

I was able to repair the current pin. I have it all together and yet the key still doesn't work in the lock. Once you turn the actuator to the right do you have to re-orient it? When I put the key in to lock it nothing happens and it still doesn't move like it used to. The power locks do not work either .

Any help is most appreciated!

Could you use a screwdriver to make the actuator work before you repaired the pin?

if so, your repair is no good.

if not, you need a new actuator
