Discovery II Cracked Block, what should I do?
Mine is the same color. Must be another frustrated Land Rover owner. I think the discovery will be a rare vehicle on the road because they cost so much to rebuild, it's not worth it so they will be junked.

So the Discovery engine is this Buick 215 CID thing from the 1960's
Same bolt pattern?
Then is the Discovery II / Discovery I and most all Rover bolt pattern actually a GM or Chevy bolt pattern?
Would that not portend that the Duramax diesel could be put in?
If the crank pattern is the same for the flex plate and the bolt pattern is the same then...

Seems like this thread ended. But I am wondering what you did with your disco? I hope you put a new block in it. They are so easy to fix and parts are so plentiful it seems like a vehicle that, with mechanical skills, you can keep going for a very long time.
