Default Discovery II Dashboard Repair Kit...

I recently purchased the OEM Land Rover dashboard repair kit (RCDSHBLK) and the parts did not come with any instructions. Do these bits screw into the plastic trim that meets the dash pad or into the dash pad itself or do I have this completely wrong? I searched the forum and only found a handful of photos of it installed but it is not clear if how it or where exactly the bits were installed.

Any help or information on this install would be appreciated.

Thanks.

I used the exact same kit last year. You need to seat the pieces, passenger side first, as the tab is on that one. You will see that it fits under the edges of the window pillars, and will bridge the edge if the dash material to the plastic going to the windshield. TAKE YOUR TIME WITH THE SCREWS!! Some will be easy to do, other require a lot of patience. The angle/space behind the gauges is difficult, do not over tighten or you break the kit pieces. Good Luck

Once you set the pieces in place and it creates the bridge between the dash and front plastic, the screws will go thru the dash and into the plastic it is glued to. If I remember, it seemed easy at first, but once you get thru the dash material it gets harder to screw in so you know you are biting into the plastic. Taking your time and maintaining good downward pressure is the key. Make sure the driver bit you use is a perfect fit into the screw slot.

I see we're not too far apart from each other judging by your location. Drink or two on me if we ever meet. An extra drink since you're a Marine. (5 Generations of Marine & Air Force in the family. Thank you for your service.)

Just curious. But how did it turn out? If possible, can you upload some pictures?

Thanks.

Yes please post pics when you are done! Sounds like my dash is doing the same thing as yours, I had no idea there was a repair kit until now!
