Default Discovery II Fuel Injector Help

Hi folks.

Hope you all had a nice Thanksgiving!

I need some help on possible alternatives to the OEM fuel injectors for a DII. It all started with a vacuum leak at the injectors. I pulled the injectors, cleaned them with my ultrasonic cleaner, rebuilt them with new filters and O-rings, and re-installed.

When it was all buttoned back up, the truck wouldn't start and it was leaking fuel. After some investigation, I found one the injectors is not closing. I tried cleaning it again but to no avail.

So I am trying to locate a fuel injector locally because I need my truck up and running tomorrow. The local junkyard has them in stock but there is a $50 minimum to pull it.

So I was looking at other possible injectors and did not find solid info for the Disco II. The ones that seem a likely candidate are for Volvo's (Bosch part # 0-280-155-746). I see a lot of info for the Disco I, but nothing for a Disco II.

The OEM injectors are rated at 16.75 lbs/hr and the Volvo injectors are 19.

My question is whether anyone is running non-OEM injectors in a DII? And if yes, has there been any improvement to the truck? I was looking at the ford yellow tops as well, but they don't have the slot for the top clip.

Any suggestions/help is greatly appreciated!

Thanks,
Jamie
