I won't say whether to use K&N or not, but by personal experience I will not use one again. My orginal MAF was fine for 80K miles. I put in a K&N and not more than 3K miles later my MAF went out. Replaced the MAF and got a paper filter and it's been fine since. I'm not saying it was the K&N or just time for a new MAF, but it was too coincidental for me. Especially after shelling out $200 for a new one. That's 2 tanks of gas!
