Default Discovery S model

Have been looking at purchasing a 2004 Discovery. There arelots available but can get confusing with models and standard equipment. I thought the S modelwasn't equipped withsunroof and leather. Would they be an option or the seller just thinks the seats look like leather and calls them so. I have read that Discos without sunroof can be noisey and not as structurally sound.

What other differences would there be in the S model to a SE. The vehicle would be used mainly for on- road trips and winter driving.

Thanks Kevin

i love my S and it isn't noisy. although the roof isn't as strong (not really important, unless your carrying cargo in it). most don't have leather, they have rubber fake leather, (which i find more convenient). it wears a lot slower, looks nice, and is easier to clean. s model is just less to break! lol

SE has sunroof, real leather, and harmon kardon sound, with "cold weather package" heated windshield, and seats. otherwise theirs no difference.

The real difference is the convienieceancececeeecc features.
I never wanted sunroofs, until I got them, now my scalp can get sunburnt in the car too!
If you go to www.edmunds.com you can do some more research and find out which model has the creture comforts that you want.
And yes, the sunroofs DO make the roof stronger.

Thanks...is there anything that the SE might have that you would have liked?

Real leather, upgrade audio with sub woofer, sunroofs, I do not know if heated seats is standard on a "S" model or not.
Same with the power seats.
I have a SE but I have a DI which is different than a DII.
I have 16" wheels. If you plan on offroading at all you will want to trade your 18"s for 16"s. Better tire choices and more sidewall to take abuse.

if you want best offraod ness gets 16's otherwise 18's are fine for mild trails and roads. only thin i might have wanted on the se was the sunroofs. but they tend to leak at times (not a major repair). i like the S it seems more offroady.

My truck was built as an S model without the sunroof or cd changer, no heated seats. Power seats are standard in all trim packages in the DII. The PO (2nd owner) had the front sunroof installed when he bought it, lucky for me.
