DOH, guess i should have watched the vid. In years past, before i knew it was an easily obtainable item, (didn't lurk around on these forums) i spent longer trying to rig up missing bolts, than actually swapping springs

Zack what to you think about coil spring compressor tool? I dont have a lift nor a extra hand to help me with the lift install so Ill be doing it by myself when I get home. Dont like the idea of disconnecting the drivshaft and other components as done in video. I have access to a simple tool that grips onto coil spings then you rotate a lever and it compresses the spring thus making it easier to work with and remove/install. I used this method when I removed the lift from my former D1 and it worked well. Any reason why I should NOT use this method for the install of the new lift on my D2?

coil spring compressor is great if you don't have a lift or multiple jacks. unbolt the bottom of the shock, unbolt the shock tower, remover the shock tower and shock as one unit. Install the spring compressor, compress spring, lift it out, no need to remove brakes only the tire. Compress the new spring, put it in place, un-compress it, install shock tower with new shock, tighten bottom of the shock, tighten tower and you done.

make sure you have a coil spring compressor and not a MacPherson strut spring compressor

Agreed, spring compressors are great when you need them. We would use them in the video if they were necessary in this situation but it was not the case. Most places will rent them out on the cheap, they are a good tool.

Zach, I notice the RN kit comes with rear spring plates while Justin's kit doesn't list plates. Are the plates supplied in the RN kit similar to D1 plates to add additional lift/leveling in the rear?

I just installed this kit on my Disco. The bottom spring mounting plates and the top spring isolators are included probably because SLS equipped Discos do not have come with those plates installed. When I pulled out my stock suspension I noticed that my Disco (a non SLS equipped truck) already had those plates installed. But I did switch em out for the new ones. Keep in mind this kit has two functions: give you a heavy duty 2" life and is a conversion kit for SLS equipped trucks.
