DIY windshield replacement?
I live on the NE side of Houston, TX and there are many dirt and gravel quarries north of us so our section of freeway has lots of crap to get kicked up by other vehicles. Cracked windshields in the Houston area are a common issue.
Last month I got binged real good by a stone but I didn't see any mark or chip. It must have been right along the lower passenger side rubber gasket because now with the change from warm to cool temps every other few days I have a crack in my windshield that is moving from the passenger side to the driver's side.
I can get one installed for around $195 but can also pick up one and do it myself for $125.
I've done a few myself and seen many done over the years. Anyone done there own? My insurance only covers repairs to windshields and my deductible is $500 so I won't be going that route

Yes I agree with you guys and if it was more like a $200 or more difference I'd do it myself but since the difference is so slight I'll hve it done. I've done both the kinds that are held on with butyl adhesive and also the older ones with a rubber gasket. I was just wondering if anyone had done there own.
