Default Do all D1 have ABS?

I was under impression that they do...
I have 98 Discovery and it seems that it has no ABS - front wheels lock up on snow and there is no light on my cluster.
I am away for a weeks so cant diagnose it, but my fiance is scared driving it... can blown fuse cause ABS light not to function and brakes not to work properly?

You have no ABS, but as long as you have no light that reads "Brake" then your regular brakes are fine.

So your ABS would kick in for no reason when braking - so you pulled the fuse ... now brakes work normal but no ABS function ....maybe that what happened with mine, but they went one step further and removed ABS light from cluster.
-- Metal shavings on the sensor will set it off causing it to engage ABS when it not suppose to (just one of the causes)

I think i will spend my Christmas brake under the car.

The ABS design in the D1 is really poor as the most common failure mode I've seen reported is almost no brakes on dry pavement. A number of people have run stop signs or lights (including me) when it failed. A well designed system would fail so you have no ABS, not so you have no brakes.
People disabling the ABS on D1's is pretty common, for the above reason.

Could be an easy fix. I pulled the code on mine and found out it was a "brake pedal position switch" Replaced it and ABS has been working fine for over a year now.

Sure, you can fix them, but that doesn't change the fact that they commonly fail in a way that you have little to no brakes.

what model disco did you replace the brake pedal position switch? this is different from the brake light switch right? is the same switch that the cruise control uses?
