Default RE: Do I jump on it?

So I did not end up going with the extended warranty...it was $5,000 to add it at the dealership. I have been doing some additional research and my truck was made the same month that theTSB came out, 03/03. I am hoping that my Disco was one of the first to be corrected in regards to this problem as my VIN does not fall in that range. In some naive way, I am hoping they found theissue and began fixing it BEFORE the LRNA released the TSB...perhaps I am just being stupidly optimistic.

I just have to add...I have been searching this forum like mad and printing up everything I can find, from how to change brake fluid to ATF engine flushes...I focused on your recommended routine at 60,000k since you posted it to a forum member who was not familiar with their Disco's maintenance history, like myself.
Hope to get everything tuned up and going great in the next month or so. My first project this weekend (if my parts come in) is to rebuild my driveshaft.
Thank you!

THANK YOU!
I found a post in the forums that said: The VIN range is all 2003 Discoverys ending with 3A771801 – 3A808362

The car'sVIN that I'm looking at ends in 3A812478.
Does that mean this one is okay in that regard?
You could be in great shape with that vin. Still consider looking at an extended warranty.
Jupiter, your truck is looking great.
