I'm currently looking to purchase a 99' Discovery and I have a few questions for any owners of a 99'.
How many mpg do you average with city and highway driving?
Have you had any problems with the Discovery? If so, what? Cost to service?
Do you find it to be reliable?
If you are located in the Savannah, GA area, are there any good/reliable service centers?

Any other info you think is important, please let me know.

general info about rovers. first thing and the most important thing is this, If they do not have all receipts and maintanence records, stay away. rovers are not cheap to repair. parts and labor. Have a dealer do a complete inspection on the vehicle before you buy it. make an agreement with the owner. If they don't want it inspected by the dealer stay away. Disco have their quirks, most are simple fixes. there is list on the forum for most asked questions. that should give you and idea. I average about 17mpg in the city and 21-23 on the highway. I have a 96 disco with 130k on it. had it since 96. total cost in repairs and maintanence, this includes tires and brakes, for me is about 5000.00. Not bad for 10 years. Again I can't over state the importance of the maintainence records and correct intervals. I have 99% of all the receipts of the vehicle. At this point in time I would not give it a second thought about going cross country. The vehicle has never left me stranded. That goes for my wife as well. she is not easy on vehicles.
