anybody had any issues where the door check strap has broken and if so how did you fix it? My driver's side broke and it also seems the piece that is welded to the frame on the inside part by the fuse box is loose. Thanks in advance

 

This must be a common issue because both my front doors are broken and make a nice loud "pop" when you close them.

Also want to see fixes... was going to have by buddy weld it back or have also read about fixing it with JB weld or self tapping screws

 

I've thought about keeper straps out of military webbing

 

I personally think you would be better off fixing it. Keep in mine the secondary purpose of the check is to keep the door open so it doesnt close on you

 

True but it's hard to find the keepers
