Default Door lock cylinder exploded, how screwed am i?

I had the brilliant idea to prevent a lock actuator rod failure by replacing it with a good one. Well, of course, when I was removing the roll pin I destroyed the lock cylinder. As far as I can tell, a junk yard is my only solution. Am I right? Just find a driver's door handle and be a two-key guy, or I guess I can try to swap wafers and restore my original key? Any advice is appreciated.

A locksmith should be able to match the lock to your key. (Will be going through that shortly myself)

Check out this thread I started back in 2017. Scroll down to post #13 for a lot of detailed info about disassembling and reassembling the door lock cylinder.

It's not clear just what you mean when you say you destroyed the lock cylinder, but since you mention swapping the wafers I'll presume you have them and you know the order in which they were installed. If that's correct, swapping them into another cylinder from a boneyard truck isn't difficult. It's tedious, but not difficult. Hopefully the pics in my thread will help.

Hopefully too you can find a door handle in a boneyard truck near you. Boneyard DIIs are getting scarce here. Good luck, and please let us know how it goes.

I found your thread. I hadn't figured out how to get to the cylinder until I saw that. Thanks. I have all of the wafers. I don't know that order but that is easy enough to solve.

I found a handle on car-part.com, but when I called I learned that they sold the whole truck last week. Damn. Still looking.
