Picked up a very used, 2004 Disco II for a project vehicle for my son. All doors lock as they should, except for the driver's rear door. You can manually lock it, but can only manually unlock it from inside. Does not respond to the remotes, or the unlock button on the dash.
I assumed it would have to be that rear door actuator. Bought a used one from Ebay. After hours of cussing and skinned knuckles, got it installed. Still doesn't work! Seems very unlikely that I got another bad actuator assembly?
Key fobs both have new batteries, and window goes up/down normally so that part is receiving power.
Any ideas?

 

Did you ever get this figured out? I'm having the same problem with the passenger side rear door on my 04 Disco II.

 

It was the actuator. The one I got from EBay was also bad.....

 

Yeah that's an actuator problem. I had to replace ALL of them on my 04.

 

How much are you guys paying for new door lock actuators? I am in need of three at this time. Slowly, but surely, they are all going out.

 

Mines driver door was doing the same thing, bought an actuator from eBay, didnt work. Bought 2 more on different times from different pick and pull kind of places.....they didnt work. Yesterday I wanted to give another try, got one from junk yard for 10$. And it works like a charm!!!!
